I’ve taken almost 60 people off my friends list on Facebook in the last week. People with whom I’ve spent time talking about transformation, and how important integrity is, if you want life to work. Most of the people I unfriended are in real estate. The rest are in network marketing or some other field of sales, “life coaching,” or some kind of “alternative medicine” that doesn’t actually do anything.
Am I being too hard on real estate agents? I don’t think so. Ask any real estate agent, at any time, whether now is a good time to buy a house. The answer is not only yes, but that now is the perfect time to buy, and waiting is a bad idea for reason x, y, or z. Ask if now is a good time to sell, and they’ll give exactly the same answer for the exact opposite reason. I really don’t think this is what’s meant by “keeping an empowering context present” all the time. “Empowering contexts” are not the same as delusions.
How do you become a life coach? You say you’re a life coach, and then you learn how to generate invoices.
What about alternative medicine? Read a book or two, and start generating invoices. It doesn’t matter what theories you subscribe to; they’re all the same recycled bullshit.
Forget all the nonsense about everything being “vibration” and “frequencies”. That’s all bullshit, and probably comes from using hallucinogens and then believing the hallucinations. Sure, particles are just waves or strings vibrating, but you will never interact with those vibrations or frequencies. Even theoretical physicists don’t. They interact with their telescopes and their microscopes and their equations and theories.
Also, Einstein never said “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” It was said by a special effects artist (actual artist) and “channeler” (bullshit artist) Darryl Anka, who has assigned the words to an entity named Bashar. Somebody decided to attribute it to Einstein, and started making pictures to smear all over Facebook. I hate these people.
(Nikola Tesla did famously say, “If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Do some research on Tesla’s life; this was said in 1942, long after Tesla had lost his mind.)
Look, everyone can’t be a life coach, real estate agent, sales god, businessperson, or bullshit artist. Everyone cannot talk on the phone and collect residuals all day for a living. At some people, people have to actually do something if the world is going to work.
If your living is made by bullshitting people and skimming what you can off it, you do not get to talk to me about personal integrity.
