This is where I will keep recordings that I post for people to listen to. An on-line recording portfolio, if you will.
My friend Dan Carter and I recorded some piano pieces that he composed. He played them on a nice weighted MIDI keyboard, then, after we’d edited the MIDI data slightly, I took them to a studio with a MIDI-controllable Yamaha studio piano, and bounced them to actual audio. The resulting sound is, in my opinion, fantastic. Here are two of the pieces we recorded:
Dan is also known for a piece he composed which was included in the 1985 LDS Hymnbook. I recorded myself playing it on the clarinet; each part was recorded twice for a total of 8 tracks. The bass part had to be shifted down an octave, due to the soprano clarinet’s limited range. Someday I will have a bass and contrabass clarinet so I won’t have that problem.
